I received this book as a free gift from the author for an honest review.I just finished the book last night and couldn't sleep because I kept thinking about it! This is a hidden gem of a novel and I absolutely loved it.
What I loved: I really liked the protagonist Jade, who was strong and knew what she wanted. I loved the Skorplings, I could totally picture them in my head and wish I had one as a pet/friend! I was mesmerized by the worlds that Ms. Savage created- the domes and the politics between them were fascinating. And she does have a way with words when it comes to food and clothing and scenery. My mouth was watering in several places and I had to go grab something to munch on. I also wanted to possess the dress made of crystals for my own! One of my favorite characters was Ralston, so I was excited to see he will be back for the next installment. The whole idea of Transcenders and if they do or don't mess with the fabric/track of time is really interesting and I hope we'll get a lot more into that in the next book. I loved the idea of parallel worlds and being able to travel to other ones. The one thing that I wonder will ever be dealt with is... what about the other Jade? What happened to her? and why is it that she can go back to her time without anyone noticing whereas, the hints in the cliffhanger suggest that she has been missed in Domerica.
Small comment of what I didn't like, which obviously did not detract from the stars given above... Savage does have a habit of inserting "dude" or mentioning "Brad Pitt" etc. when she wants Jade to have a faux pas. I think if she just talks naturally without those phrases, it is quite clear she talks differently from the other characters.
I hope everyone gets to take a look at this book. Ms. Savage has an amazing imagination and put it together really well in this first installment. I look forward to reading the next book and will look out for it!

TRANSCENDER FirstTimer Vicky Savage 9780985901905 Books Reviews
I love this story. Talk about star crossed lovers, these two are an entire dimension separated. Jaden is a saucy girl, pulled from what we consider normal earth into an alternate earth where society exists only within three dome structures. All others humanity was destroyed in an event in this dimension's history. In this new earth, she meets Ryder, son of a chief of those who survive outside the domes. In the short time she is there, she manages to change a good bit of the social and political structure of one of the domes and possibly the entire planet. I can't wait to read more of this wonderful series.
I enjoyed the premise of the book, and it’s been written in a way to easily write sequels which either continue Domerica or go off to another world.
I became a bit frustrated with Jaden’s immaturity and use of colloquialisms and slang, but am hoping she has matured a bit in the sequel.
Excellent story overall! Great characters and plot. Fluid writing and good steady pace. Good editing too! The cover, though, is quite "blah". It doesn't give any clues about the story itself and is quite uninspiring. Maybe Mrs. Savage should consider changing it.
As for the romance part itself, I felt it was a bit rushed here and there. Didn't ring totally credible at times. It just feels too abrupt when all the love talk starts. All it needs is a few added sentences to slow it down a bit and draw the readers in. Allow the characters a bit more of self-doubt and wonderment about those overwhelming feelings so the romance takes on a more natural pace.
All that said...I can't wait to start digging into the sequel!
I was given this book as a free read by the author, I was a little confused by the title and the cover picture thinking it was going to be a bit more of a science fiction read but I was pleasantly surprised. The story line is fresh and not just another supernatural teenager that falls in love. The author really built a whole world around this different dimensions of reality coexisting simultaneously I thought it was a great idea and was really anticipating the main character learning more about her ability to travel through these dimensions. I enjoyed the pace she set for the romance with the connection they felt between them right away it seemed to me that she still kept a slower pace which makes sense to the story and everything the main character was already dealing with.
I can't wait to read more about this world that Vicky Savage has created I found it intriguing and her imagination to be a wonderful place to visit.
An uneven but ultimately satisfying read. There are a few things that bothered me - instant love between the main characters and some things that were too much to believe. It really bothered me that Jaden kept viewing all of the people in Domerica as the same people from earth. They aren't the same - they don't have the same memories or experiences, and other than physical appearance, are ultimately strangers. The other thing that got to me was that no one realized the Domerica Jaden had changed. The family never sits back reminiscing about old times and realizes that this Jaden doesn't remember? They don't realize that her speech and world view has drastically changed literally overnight?
Nevertheless, Vicky Savage is phenomenal at bringing worlds alive. I was so engrossed in this world that she built that I couldn't put it down. The people, their lives, and their world seems to be breathing at your fingertips.
This book is chock full of younger reader angst and language and almost off putting. I seldom quit books but kept up the read. Had I quit early on I'd have given this book maybe 3stars for the YA readers out there. BUT having persevered I ended up enjoying the tale being told. While not great, this is a quick easy and ultimately enjoyable story.
Jaden is a bit snarky and is thrust into a parallel world where she learns here she is a reigning princess. While she's been told this was an galactic error that could cause unknown changes in destiny, she finds (of course) love ...! She struggles with her alternate life and must decide when the time comes, if she will return to "her" own life. Fun story to follow and worth the read.
